Pregnancy and Oral Problems

During pregnancy, different hormones affect gums and teeth. Bad breath, bleeding gum, gum swelling, increased chance of tooth decay etc are often encountered.

Sustained gum problems can cause Pre-term Low Birth-weight Baby. Moreover, all the dental treatments and usual medicines can’t be rendered during different phases of pregnancy. 2nd trimester (13th wk to 24th wk) is more or less safer for the dental procedures. BEST IS – PRE PREGNANCY DENTAL CHECK UP, IF IT IS A PLANNED ONE.
Brushing the teeth twice a day, flossing and visiting your dentist once the pregnancy is confirmed will help keep your teeth and gums as healthy as possible during pregnancy.
